Nanum Pen Script

Nanum Pen Script is a handwriting-style font with a casual, personal feel. Its single regular weight and normal style suggest a consistent look rather than a broad system of expressive variations. It may work well when you want text to feel informal, approachable, or connected to handwritten notes.

Best suited for: Use it for short headings, invitations, greeting cards, labels, captions, classroom materials, and informal announcements. It can add a human touch to small display areas, especially where a relaxed tone matters more than dense reading. Keep longer passages limited, since handwritten forms may become tiring at extended lengths.

Design considerations: With only one weight, Nanum Pen Script offers no built-in light-to-bold range for creating hierarchy through weight alone. Build contrast with size, spacing, color, or a supporting typeface instead. Its normal style keeps the treatment direct, so avoid relying on italics or multiple font styles to distinguish sections.

Pairing guidance: Combine it with a clean sans serif for body copy, instructions, or supporting details. A restrained serif can also provide a more editorial counterpoint, provided its shapes remain easy to read. Let Nanum Pen Script handle brief emphasis, while the companion font manages paragraphs, numbers, and dense information.
