About this font

Sansation is a sans-serif family with a clean, contemporary appearance and a useful range of basic text weights. Its regular and italic styles allow it to handle both upright reading and gentle emphasis, while the available weight range gives layouts room to shift between lighter, standard, and bold text.

Best suited for: Use Sansation for headings, navigation, short descriptions, posters, interface labels, and other display or short-text settings. Its italic style can add distinction to captions, notes, or selected phrases without requiring a separate family. For longer passages, check its spacing and texture at the intended size before committing to it throughout.

Design considerations: The 300 weight can create a lighter appearance in titles or spacious layouts, while 400 is a sensible starting point for ordinary text. Reserve 700 for emphasis, section labels, and strong hierarchy. Because only three weights are available, build contrast through size, spacing, and placement rather than expecting many fine gradations. Normal and italic styles support simple emphasis systems.

Pairing guidance: To complement Sansation, consider a serif with clear, readable forms for longer text, especially when the sans-serif handles headings or interface elements. Alternatively, pair it with a restrained sans-serif that differs in proportions or weight range. Keep the supporting face visually quieter, and test both fonts together at actual sizes to maintain a coherent hierarchy.
