About this font

Tirra is a sans-serif font with a broad range of upright weights, from regular through extra bold. That range makes it adaptable across display and supporting text, while its normal style keeps the overall system focused and uncomplicated. It can help bring clear hierarchy to layouts that need several levels of emphasis.

Best suited for: Use Tirra for headings, page titles, navigation, labels, posters, and short interface messages. Regular and medium weights may work for compact supporting copy, while the heavier options can give announcements, calls to action, and section names stronger visual priority. The Latin, Latin-ext, and Tifinagh subsets offer defined character coverage for projects using those subsets.

Design considerations: Start with 400 or 500 when text needs a lighter visual footprint, then move to 600 or 700 for clear subheads and controls. Weights 800 and 900 are best reserved for brief, prominent text, where their density has room to read comfortably. Since Tirra is available only in a normal style, use size, spacing, and weight rather than italics to distinguish roles.

Pairing guidance: For contrast, pair Tirra with a serif that has calm proportions and a readable texture, especially when Tirra handles headings. A restrained humanist sans-serif can also complement it in longer text or secondary interface content. Keep the companion font quieter, and let differences in width, texture, or weight establish hierarchy without adding unnecessary complexity.
