Eczar
Eczar is a serif font with a substantial range of weights, from 400 Regular through 800 ExtraBold. Its single normal style keeps the overall system focused, while variable-font support may allow more gradual adjustment between available weights. It can bring a distinctive, text-led character to headings, editorial layouts, and selected display work.
Best suited for: Use Eczar for article headlines, book or magazine titles, posters, cultural projects, and branding that benefits from visible serif detail. Lighter weights can support larger text and short passages, while heavier weights can give titles and labels stronger emphasis. Test it at the intended size before using it for extended reading.
Design considerations: The five supplied weights make hierarchy easy to build without switching families. Regular and Medium can establish quieter text levels, Semibold and Bold can separate headings, and ExtraBold is better reserved for prominent display moments. Because only the normal style is supplied, use weight and size rather than italics for contrast. The family includes Devanagari, Greek, Greek Extended, Latin, and Latin Extended subsets.
Pairing guidance: For a calmer layout, pair Eczar with a restrained sans serif that has simple shapes and an even texture. A neutral companion can handle captions, navigation, or supporting information while Eczar carries the main emphasis. If using another serif, choose one with quieter proportions and less decorative detail to preserve a clear hierarchy.
