About this font

Arima is a display font with a broad weight range and a single normal style. Its variable format allows weight adjustments across a continuous spectrum, giving headings and short text room to shift from light to bold. The supplied subsets include Greek, Greek Extended, Latin, Latin Extended, Malayalam, Tamil, and Vietnamese.

Best suited for: Use Arima for posters, event titles, packaging, social graphics, mastheads, and other prominent text where its display classification can take the lead. It may also work for brief labels or calls to action, especially when the design benefits from adjustable weight rather than a fixed, one-size-fits-all setting.

Design considerations: The 100–700 range supports clear contrast between delicate and emphatic treatments. Lighter settings can suit spacious layouts and secondary display lines, while heavier settings are better reserved for short headlines that need stronger visual impact. Since only the normal style is supplied, create variation through size, weight, spacing, and layout rather than relying on italics.

Pairing guidance: For supporting text, consider a restrained sans serif or a readable serif with calm proportions and a less expressive texture. Keep the companion font quieter so Arima remains the focal point. Match its weight and size to the available space, and test combinations at actual reading dimensions, particularly when pairing scripts from the supplied subsets.
