About this font

Chonburi is a display font with a single regular weight and a normal style. Its role is best understood as one of emphasis: it can help a short piece of text attract attention while giving headings, labels, or promotional wording a distinct visual character. With Latin, Latin Extended, Thai, and Vietnamese subsets supplied, it can serve projects using those character sets.

Best suited for: Use Chonburi for posters, event titles, campaign graphics, packaging accents, social media artwork, and other prominent text with limited wording. It may also work for display headings in editorial or cultural layouts. Keep supporting copy shorter and quieter so the main text remains easy to notice and the page does not feel overly dense.

Design considerations: Because only one weight is available, hierarchy must come from size, spacing, placement, and contrast rather than a range of boldness. Reserve it for selected words or larger headings, then use a calmer typeface for longer passages. The normal style also means italics or slanted emphasis will need to come from another font or a separate typographic treatment.

Pairing guidance: A restrained sans serif can provide a clear counterpoint for captions, navigation, and body copy, while a readable serif may add a more editorial contrast. Look for a companion with several weights and a neutral texture, especially if the layout needs multiple levels of information. Match the pairing by testing size and spacing, not by forcing similar letterforms.
