About this font

Lexend is a sans-serif family with a broad range of nine weights, from 100 through 900. Its single normal style keeps the system focused, while the variable format allows more fluid adjustment between available weights. This makes it suitable for interfaces, documents, and other layouts that need clear hierarchy without changing type families.

Best suited for: Use Lexend for navigation, labels, headings, body copy, forms, dashboards, and editorial layouts. Lighter weights can support spacious display text, while regular and medium weights can handle everyday reading. Heavier settings are useful for titles, alerts, buttons, and other elements that need stronger emphasis.

Design considerations: The nine-weight range gives you room to build contrast gradually rather than relying only on size changes. Keep the lightest weights for generous backgrounds and larger text, where delicate strokes have more space. For dense interface copy, begin around the middle of the range, then test heavier weights for small labels or high-priority controls.

Pairing guidance: Lexend can work with a restrained serif for contrast in editorial or institutional layouts, especially when Lexend handles headings or interface elements. It can also pair with a narrower sans-serif when space is limited, or a more humanist sans-serif when you want softer supporting text. Keep the companion family quieter so the weight range remains easy to read.
