About this font

Mitr is a sans-serif font with a broad range of six weights, from 200 to 700. Its single normal style keeps the family focused, while the weight selection allows text to move from light and airy to firmly emphasized. It can suit interfaces, editorial layouts, and everyday communication where a clean sans-serif structure is useful.

Best suited for: Use lighter weights for spacious headings, short introductions, or restrained labels. Regular and medium weights can support interface text, captions, menus, and general reading. Semibold and bold weights are useful for titles, buttons, navigation emphasis, and compact display work. Test smaller sizes carefully, especially when choosing the lightest options.

Design considerations: The six-weight range makes hierarchy easier to establish without changing families: reserve 200 and 300 for larger text or generous layouts, and use 400 or 500 for dependable everyday sizing. Weights 600 and 700 provide stronger contrast for headings and calls to action. Since only the normal style is supplied, rely on size and weight rather than italics for emphasis.

Pairing guidance: Mitr can work with a restrained serif for editorial contrast, particularly when headings and body copy need clearly different textures. It may also pair well with a neutral sans-serif in a complementary width or a quieter weight. Keep the supporting face simple, and let differences in role, scale, and weight create the hierarchy.
