Sarabun
Sarabun is a sans-serif family with a broad weight range, from Thin through ExtraBold, and both normal and italic styles. That flexibility makes it suitable for layouts that need a consistent sans-serif foundation across display text, supporting copy, and interface elements. Its available subsets include Latin, Latin-ext, Thai, and Vietnamese.
Best suited for: Use Sarabun for websites, applications, navigation labels, forms, editorial layouts, and other projects that need several levels of text emphasis. Lighter weights can support spacious headings or secondary information, while regular and medium weights fit everyday reading. Heavier styles can bring attention to titles, buttons, and key messages.
Design considerations: The eight weights allow careful control over hierarchy without switching families. Keep Thin and ExtraLight for larger text or generous sizes, where their lighter appearance can remain clear. Regular through SemiBold can establish dependable reading levels, while Bold and ExtraBold are better reserved for short, high-priority elements. Italics add distinction for emphasis or supporting notes.
Pairing guidance: Sarabun can pair well with a serif that introduces visible contrast for long-form content or formal headings. For a quieter system, combine it with another sans-serif that has a different width or more restrained proportions. Keep the companion family limited to a clear role, and use Sarabun’s weight changes to maintain hierarchy across the layout.
