Tajawal
Tajawal is a sans-serif font with a broad range of weights, from 200 through 900, and a normal style. Its Arabic and Latin subsets make it suitable for projects that need text in both writing systems. The weight range allows the family to cover quiet reading text, clear labels, and stronger display emphasis.
Best suited for: Use Tajawal for websites, mobile interfaces, editorial layouts, dashboards, signage, and branded communications that need a clean sans-serif foundation. Lighter weights can support larger supporting text, while regular and medium weights are useful for everyday reading. Bold and heavier weights can bring structure to headings, navigation, and key information.
Design considerations: The seven available weights provide room to establish hierarchy without changing families. Use 400 or 500 for general text, then reserve 700 and above for headings, buttons, or emphasis so the layout remains easy to scan. The 200 and 300 weights may work best at generous sizes and with sufficient contrast.
Pairing guidance: Tajawal can be paired with a serif for contrast in editorial or institutional layouts, or with a restrained sans-serif when a second family is needed for supporting information. If the project uses both Arabic and Latin text, choose a companion with compatible proportions and a similar level of formality. Keep the pairing simple and let weight differences organize the page.
